Eric Leiser IMAGINATION (2008, 70 Minutes, Video)
IMAGINATION combines live-action with stop motion and is about Dr. Reineger, a child neuro-psychologist who has dealt with extreme and abnormal cases his entire life. He has studied the Woodruff twins intensely for many years and has become confident of at least one thing: the twin Anna has a rare form of autism called Asperger’s Syndrome, rendering her unable to cope with reality. As for her sister, Sarah, who has been blinded over the past year by a degenerative eye disease, the Doctor cannot say for sure why her visions map so closely to Anna’s. As he reflects on the twins’ ever increasing symbiosis and unified visions, he begins to see the girls as something quite special and outside of the bounds of his understanding.

The goal is to create a mobile utopian community which will be a living counter-example to the values of these powerful financial institutions. The landscape is beautiful, and bicycles possess their own poetry. But it's not always easy functioning without money. The authorities have their own ideas about policing the intersection of utopia and everyday life. And should the caravan succeed in getting to Prague, there's the matter of shutting down the World Bank/IMF meeting...

Without a finished script, NYU senior Maurice Singer nevertheless has his thesis film approved for production. His original screenplay 'Bemoana' is an ambitious retelling of 'Little Red Riding Hood' -- a story of sexual abuse and revenge set against the backdrop of an isolated New England cabin. The edgy concept generates a buzz and attracts an eager student crew, ready to work for free to prove their professional mettle. As the shoot draws near, we learn that Maurice's father has generously offered a large budget and the family vacation cabin to be set on fire in the film's climactic sequence. These advantages, however, prove to be no match for the students' inexperience, which slowly cause the shoot to spiral wildly out of control.

It's been two long years since the sharp-witted Jay McCarroll was dubbed 'the next great American designer' on season one of TV's Project Runway, and he's anxious to finally show his first line of clothing. The feature documentary, Eleven Minutes, chronicles his year-long journey designing and preparing his first independent runway show for New York's Fashion Week in Bryant Park and the subsequent selling of his line to stores. The goal of this documentary is to drop the pretenses of reality TV and focus on the work. All this is told in strict verite through the eyes of the articulate and entertaining Jay McCarroll, whose experience exposes us not only to the inner workings of the fashion industry and his love/hate relationship to it, but to the creative process in general.

Julie Casper Roth TOKENS (2007, 18 Minutes, Video)
Wolfgang Busch HOW DO I LOOK (2006, 80 Minutes, Video)
How Do I Look captured the Harlem "Ball" traditions that originated in the 70’s, an historically off shot from the Harlem "Drag Balls" from the 20’s. Because of the loss of hundreds of members of the "Ball" community due to the HIV epidemic, How Do I Look recorded an important aspect of the history and legacy. HDIL focused on the Icon and Legend Pepper Labeija, Willi Ninja, Tracy Africa, Kevin Omni, Jose Xtravaganza and Octavia St. Laurent, who took their talents outside the "Ball" community successfully and opened many doors for their community.
