6:00PM NEWFILMMAKERS SPECIAL PRESENTATION
Peter Davis & Eric Laplante KNOT (2007, 32 Minutes, Video)
A
sometimes funny look at three recently graduated roommates who have come
to live together in Brooklyn. There is the troubled couple, Kate and Matt.
Kate is a new schoolteacher, and Matt a PA for reality TV. Stephanie, the
art major, moves in, and we watch these three characters weave a few days
of their lives through each other and others.
J Huston OFF OFF BROADWAY (2007, 80
Minutes, 35MM)
Open letter to audience: I was recently convinced by a
childhood friend (Francis Enwright) to shoot a documentary which
chronicled the making of his most current theatre production. Out of
respect for him and due to his persistent insistence, I put other projects
aside to undertake this subjective documentation. “Specific
Conceptualism” is not only his contribution to avant garde theatre, but
best sums up the tangled cobweb of circuits, gears, and tubes that make up
his neural network. -Art Ferguson (documentrist)

Ray
Kottner is 80 years old. He's been driving a taxi in New York City for 60
years. If you’re lucky enough to see him driving along in his old
Checker cab, he'll give you a free ride and tell you the story of his
life, and his city, along the way. Ride with Ray during the summer of
2005 and see a New York you’ve never seen before. A ride with Ray in his
Checker is truly a life event. Ray, alas, is probably the last of his
breed.
