NewFilmmakers Festival Delivery Requirements

If you submitted an online screener through WithoutABox.com / FilmFreeway.com and have been accepted please confirm your date ASAP and send us an approved digital screener Theatrical Projection

NewFilmmakers is an All Digital Delivery festival

 

Transcode settings for the Festival

Files that do not meet these requirements will be conformed and transcoded for projection. A tutorial can be found HERE

  1. Quicktime .MOV
  2. video codec: H264
  3. Audio can be either stereo or 5.1
  4. Max bit rate: 15,000kbps
  5. email link to file: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  6. Naming Convention "FilmTitle_DirectorsName_MMDDYY" (being the date of screening - If you are screening on June 6th 2014 it would appear 060614)

  3. DCP*

NO Physical screeners (Blu-ray / DVD) will be accepted for projection

We recommend filmmakers make a backup available on the night of their screening.

*DCP is currently available at Anthology Film Archives
NewFilmmakers requires CruDrives or USB ThumbDrives 2 Week Prior to the screening.

Feature films delivered on DCP must include one copy on CRU drive and a non-DCP backup. All DCPs must be DCI compliant with drives formatted with EXT 2 or 3 file systems (single partition, master boot record). All DCPs must be unencrypted. H264 file backup copies must be provided within the deadline stated on the acceptance email. For 35mm film prints, we screen 24fps in aspect ratios of 1.37, 1.66, 1.85, or 2.39. We accept sound formats of mono, stereo and Dolby 5.1. Please note that these specifications are subject to change at any time. If your film is accepted into the Festival, we will provide you with the most up-to-date exhibition specs and deadlines for delivery of your master at that time.
