Barney Oldfield

Barney Oldfield is one of the founders of NewFilmmakers and the Producer of our weekly events and quarterly festivals.

Barney grew up in New York City in a family long associated with the film business, his grandfather the founder of an early Hollywood studio and his uncle a partner at another. While General Manager of Angelika Entertainment Corporation produced the popular Too Much Sleep feature, nominated for the Independent Spirit Award, and the controversial Zero Day feature, winner of Best Feature and Best Actor Awards at Slamdunk Film Festival. In addition to successful film projects Barney developed and produced the MetroAngelika series and popular television & Internet programming for Cablevision and other clients. As a resource for the filmmaking community he also began NewFilmmakers, which weekly screens new independent films in New York and in Los Angeles, and the Harvard Film Group, which has over 1000 alumni members nationally.

Barney, in partnership with SXM, executive produced Easy To Assemble with Ileana Douglas and Jeff Goldblum and CTRL on NBC with Tony Hale and Steve Howey.

Our weekly Email Bulletin goes out to 25,000 people and lists your film free of charge. You may

want to increase awareness of your screening and your film by placing a panel advertisement in it.

You can also send out an Ecard to our full mailing list at a reduced rate. There is more information

in our Promotional Information Sheet available on request.

Also free of charge we can distribute your postcards and other promotional material at Anthology

and other locations and can display posters and run trailers. At your earliest convenience, you

should mail all Promotional Material to Promotions, NewFilmmakers, PO Box 4956, New York, NY



On all printed material, you should include NewFilmmakers (one word) and the Anthology Film

Archives address, 32 Second Ave © 2nd Street, and your screening date and time. You should

mention that admission for the whole evening is $7. Our website is www.NewFilmmakers.com.

Do not link to the Anthology website since it may not have up-to-date information.



New York media will not generally review one-night screenings, but we have had success placing

items in the Village Voice, New York Magazine, TimeOut NY, and other local and national



We prepare a NewFilmmakers Press Release two weeks before the screening date and email

it to over 200 local and national media. In addition physical Press Kits about the screening are

delivered to six major outlets and we can include your printed flyers or press kits.

We screen only digital prints. All prints should be mailed to print @ NewFilmmakers.com
We screen Quicktime files with a h264 video codec and a max bit rate of 15,000kbps
